Skanska awarded contract for Gaillard Municipal Auditorium renovations in Charleston, USA, for USD 77 M, about SEK 525 M


Skanska, in a joint venture with Trident Construction, has been awarded a
contract from the City of Charleston in South Carolina for renovation and new
construction services at the Gaillard Municipal Auditorium for USD 110 M, about
SEK 750 M. Skanska’s share of the contract is 70 percent, approximately USD 77
M, about SEK 525 M, which will be included in order bookings for Skanska USA
Building for the third quarter of 2012.
The Gaillard Center project includes the addition of a 1,800 seat multi-purpose
auditorium, a 3,600 square meter exhibit hall and a new three-story 7,500 square
meter municipal office building for City employees. According to the city’s
mayor, this will be the largest construction project in the city’s history.

Seeking LEED Silver certification, the project will begin in August and is
slated for completion in December 2014.
