CRU-DataPort Signs Agreement to Acquire StorCase's Data Express Product Line

VANCOUVER, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 20, 2006 -- Data security leader CRU-DataPort today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Data Express® product line from StorCase Technology, Inc., a global leader in storage solutions who last month announced plans to cease business operations. Today's announcement brings together two internationally recognized leading product lines -- Data Express and DataPort™, manufactured by CRU-DataPort -- who together have long dominated the removable data storage and data security markets. The acquisition will close by the end of October.

The acquisition brings peace of mind for StorCase customers concerned with protecting their technology investments and for those who faced long redesign and re-qualification requirements. In an effort to maintain customer confidence, select members of the StorCase engineering and sales teams will join CRU-DataPort. Also as part of the agreement, CRU-DataPort will provide technical support and warranty services for existing StorCase Data Express products.

Through this acquisition, CRU-DataPort expects to accelerate its global expansion and market growth. The acquisition also adds rugged military, enterprise IT and the entertainment digital content markets to CRU-DataPort's dynamic portfolio of government, education, and security conscience corporate customers.

CRU-DataPort President/CEO Randal Barber commented, "The combination of CRU's DataPort and StorCase's Data Express product lines will provide customers a more powerful set of tools for securing sensitive data and building data flexible IT solutions, including the implementation of secure disk-to-disk back-up processes. We are committed to upholding StorCase's product quality and design expertise for the benefit of its intensely loyal customer base."

"This acquisition marks a significant milestone in the data storage and security landscape," said Dieter Paul, President of StorCase. "It gives businesses and governmental agencies a one-stop resource for what are unequivocally the best removable storage and security solutions available on the market today. CRU is the ideal choice to continue the StorCase Data Express product legacy."
